In the Province of Manitoba, Canada.
Unlike the TCH (Trans Canada Highway) in Regina, which becomes part of the `Ring Road', the TCH, after entering Winnipeg, continues East through the center of the city.
Not a good route for through trucks, or other traffic, not needing, or wanting, to stop for anything.
Winnipeg does have a ring road that truly rings the city. It is called the `Perimeter Highway' and is far from the maddening crowds, completely ringing the city, with lots of room for city expansion within the ring.

From East to West, or vice versa, one travels on the TCH disguised as Portage Ave. and Fermor Ave.

Entering the city from the East the TCH, after passing under the Perimeter Hwy., is called Portage Ave. and will take you into the heart of the city.
In downtown you have to switch to; Main St., St. Mary's Rd., St. Anne's Rd., and then Fermor Ave. which will become the TCH after it passes under the Perimeter Hwy. on the Eastern edge of the city.
All in all, with low bridges over head, in the downtown area, it is a route best avoided by large vehicles.
The Perimeter Highway is a complete ring around the exterior of the city.
Traffic to, and from, Lake Manitoba, and the North, leaves and enters the Perimeter Hwy. on Hwy. 6, in the North Western corner of Winnipeg.

Stuck in Winnipeg for a weekend I was wondering what to do and I came across something telling me about a museum of airplanes at the airport.
It has taken me a long time to put this page together because I took so many photos.
The hardest part of the job is deciding which pictures not to publish on my web page.
I would like to publish them all but there just isn't room.
The museum is housed in an old hangar which helps add nostalgia to the fine collection.

As you enter the museum, to the left of the lobby is a small door that leads to a small hallway; elevator, stairs, washrooms.
The stairs, &/or the elevator, will take you up to; an observation room, a children's play area, and the NOSE room.
One entrance takes you to the lounge and Skyways.
