STONE PINE

By expanding, and developing, the Glenmore Trail the City of Calgary has incorporated Highways; 8, 560, 234, 817, and 22 (known as the Cowboy Trail), to form a transit artery to service its ever growing subdivisions to the South.

Truckers have found that this route is a much quicker way to get through the city than to stay on the TCH (Trans Canada Highway).

Also, by using this route they are within a few blocks of the major truck stops in the S. E. section of the city.

The S. E. is also the area where they find most of their; parts, dealers, and repair facilities.

Not to mention that a good number of the warehouses that they have to deliver to, or pick up from, are also in that area.

I always found that if I had a light load I would use the Sarcee Trail but if I had a heavy load I would use Hwy. 22.

The number of stop light controlled intersections is about the same. Highway 1 has steeper hills but Hwy. has lower speed limits and fewer passing lanes.
